成立於一八六二年的香港中華煤氣有限公司(Towngas)，是本港第一家公用事業機構。公司的主要業務是生產、輸配、銷售煤氣及銷售煤氣爐具。Towngas亦積極發展環保業務及實踐社會企業責任，包括開設易高石油氣加氣站，及利用堆填區沼氣生產煤氣，曾獲香港工業大獎—環保成就大獎，而近年開拓內地城市管道燃氣服務，已在內地16個省份成立近80個合資項目，分布於廣東、華東、山東、華中、華北及東北等地區。
The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) was founded in 1862. It was the first public utility in Hong Kong and comprises production and distribution of gas, marketing of gas and appliances. Recently, Towngas has actively developed city piped gas business in Mainland China and green business. It is also actively involved in charity work in practicing corporate social responsibility. |
