APPLICATION |
Master of Science
in Marketing This programme is offered by Edinburgh Business
School, The MSc in Marketing is an
intellectually challenging programme that equips students with the necessary
knowledge of the key concepts, tools and techniques of marketing. The
emphasis of the programme is on developing students' ability to apply this
knowledge effectively and on producing marketing professionals who can add
value to their organisations through their ability to solve marketing
problems and make informed decisions in complex and dynamic markets. The MSc
in Marketing is designed for individuals who wish to develop a career in
marketing but require an applied and wide ranging grounding rather than a
theoretical perspective. The programme will appeal to graduates in
non-business subjects who wish to develop a career in marketing and
individuals who have business-related work experience wishing to move into,
or upgrade their skills and decision-making capability in the marketing
discipline. This MSc award requires students to complete 5 core courses and 4
electives from the designated list as shown below.
There are normally two semesters for
each calendar year, commencing in February and September respectively. Each
distance learning study module will be supported by face-to-face tutorials,
ensuring local relevance with case studies and examples. Each module will be
supported by 15 hours of tutorials (3 hours x 5 tutorials). Classes are
normally conducted at weekends in the PolyU campuses. Commencement of the
tutorials, however, will be subject to sufficient student enrollment number. Tutorials will be conducted by full-time faculties or experienced
practitioners from the industries. Students will be given access to EBS
online course websites which includes web-based discussions and past
examination papers with suggested answers. Students will also have access to
the PolyU library and computing facilities. The average completion time is 2 to 2.5 years and the actual completion
time depends on your pace of study up to a maximum of 5 years. ASSESSMENT Programmes are structured to allow you the greatest possible
flexibility. You may take individual courses to suit your own business needs.
Intermediate awards can be collected en route to your final MSc, or can be
studied in their own right.
