In collaboration with The College of Estate Management (CEM), United Kingdom last year, HKCyberU launched a series of programmes relating to surveying, construction and real estate, and arbitration ranging from Certificate, Bachelor’s degree, Postgraduate Diploma to Master’s degree levels. The programmes on construction, surveying and arbitration lead to degrees awarded by the University of Reading or Diplomas by CEM, as well as professional accreditations from The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The Chartered Institute of Building, Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Law Society of Hong Kong. Being the first to provide specialist courses in land and construction management more than 80 years ago, CEM has earned a worldwide reputation. With students worldwide in 80 countries, CEM is the leading international body providing distance learning education and training for the property professions and construction industry. Students who enrol in CEM programmes offered via HKCyberU will enjoy full access to library and computing facilities.

Recent rapid economic and social development in the Chinese mainland has created new opportunities for various industries and professions in Hong Kong. With the increasing business activities taking place between these two places, there is a need for professionals and working people in Hong Kong to know more about the laws, regulations and legal system of the mainland.

Against this background, a new programme, "Professional Certificate in China Commercial Law" (中國商業法律專業證書課程) was introduced by HKCyberU through collaboration with University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) (對外經濟貿易大學) of the Chinese mainland.

Topics covered by this 9-month course include civil and commercial law, investment and finance law, trading law, labour law, arbitration, and administrative law. Its case-study approach to learning the laws and legal system allows the course to be application-oriented. For those with hectic work schedules, blending internet and face-to-face teaching by faculties from UIBE provides maximum flexibility. Listed among the reimbursable courses for the Continuing Education Fund, the course not only caters for those in commercial, business and professional fields, but is also suitable for anyone interested in legal issues. The course is recognised by the Law Society of Hong Kong.

This year we are very proud to introduce a business programme at doctorate level. Offered by the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot-Watt University (HWU), U.K., the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Strategic Focus is an extension of the existing MBA also offered by HWU via HKCyberU. While taking the academic principles of the Master's degree to a higher level, the DBA prepares students for the highest levels of management practice, imparting the knowledge and expertise necessary to provide strategic leadership for organizations at the cutting-edge of business practice. This has not only enriched HKCyberU's course portfolio and has also widened its student profile

香港網上學府(HKCyberU)去年與英國The College of Estate Management (CEM)合辦一系列證書、學士學位、研究院文憑及碩士學位課程，範疇包括建築及房地產管理、仲裁學等。 建築測量學及仲裁學課程的學位學銜由英國University of Reading頒授，各項文憑則由英國CEM頒授，不同的課程並且獲得不同專業團體認可，包括英國皇家特許測量師學會、英國特許建造學會、香港測量師學會、英國特許仲裁人學會、香港律師會等。 CEM歷史悠久，早於八十多年前推出首項土地及建造學管理專業課程，在世界早已享負盛名。CEM目前在全球八十個國家的學生超過二千名，更已成為國際主要房地產專業及建造業遙距教育及培訓機構。由香港網上學府提供各項CEM課程的學生均可享用圖書館及電腦設施。 近年中國內地經濟及社會發展迅速，為香港各行各業提供不少新機遇。隨一香港與內地商貿活動日趨頻繁，香港在職者及專業人士均有需要加深對內地法律、法則及法制的瞭解。 在此背景下，HKCyberU與對外經濟貿易大學簽訂合作協議，通過HKCyberU在港推出「中國商業法律專業證書課程」。 上述課程為期九個月，內容包括中國民商法律實務、中國投資法律實務、中國貿易法律實務、中國勞動爭議、中國行政法律實務及中國仲裁法。課程內學習法律及法制採個案研方式，以強調課程的實用性。利用網上與課堂授課並重的靈活教學方法，對工作繁重的在職學生尤其方便。這個課程已獲納入特區政府成立的持續進修基金「可獲發還款項」課程名單內，適合從事商貿、各項專業以及對法律課題感興趣者進修。此課程也獲得香港律師會認可。 HKCyberU年內獲得推出首項博士課程機會。是項由英國Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Business School舉辦的策略為本工商管理博士課程(DBA in Strategic Focus)，是該大學通過HKCyberU提供的工商管理碩士課程的延續，不但學術理論水平更上層樓，更能培養學生在管理實務，以至尖端營商手法上策略領導才能所需的各項知識與技能。新課程不但令HKCyberU的課程組合更見充實，更可同時擴闊學生層面。
