Jack M.K. Lo is currently the Director of SPEED. He joined SPEED in early 2000 as the Programme Director with a purview in programme development and academic quality assurance. Dr. Lo was formerly the Assistant Professor of Public Sector Management and Award Coordinator of the Master of Science Programme in Public Sector Management in the Department of Management (now known as the Department of Marketing and Management) at PolyU. He had been working in PolyU since 1988.
His research interests are in the realms of local governance, environmental management, administrative and public sector reform, and bureaucratic corruption. He read Government and Public Administration in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1982, he was awarded the British Commonwealth Scholarship which enabled him to pursue postgraduate studies at Carleton University of Canada. He subsequently completed a PhD at the School of Public Policy at the University of Birmingham in U.K.
He had published in journals such as the Public Administrative Review, the China Quarterly, Policy Studies Review and International Journal of Public Sector Management. He now mainly teaches subjects such as Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Theory, Strategic Management and Managing People. |
