Prior to joining SPEED, Dr. Law was a researcher of a private local think tank for over six years. He was the chief investigator or co-investigator of various public policy research/consultancy projects in Hong Kong and the Mainland China. He also gained substantial administrative experience from some local business organizations.
Dr. Law gained experience in teaching various distant-learning management courses, from diploma level to postgraduate level, offered by some universities in the United Kingdom and Australia.
Currently, Dr. Law also takes up the role of Project Fellow of the Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Academically, Dr. Law received his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005. In his doctoral thesis, Dr. Law applied both qualitative and quantitative research methods to research into factors affecting the support for medical savings accounts in Hong Kong. He received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with distinction (human resource management concentration) from City University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Science from The University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the status of Professional Manager by the Hong Kong Management Association.
Dr. Law¡¦s teaching interests include: (1) public administration/policy in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; and (2) strategic management, human resource management, leadership, organisational behaviour, and cultural diversity.
His research interests include public policy, governance, and the application of ancient Chinese wisdom in contemporary management. He is interested in current affairs and political development of Hong Kong. |
