同學對空中服務員的工作有更深認識
Students gained a deeper understanding of the daily work of flight attendants
SPEED安排了修讀「旅遊服務業管理學學士課程」的同學,參觀了位於香港國際機場側的國泰城,讓他們深入了解航空服務的運作,以及明白持續培訓在企業精益求精的重要性。

紮根於本港的國泰航空公司,在過去數年奪獎無數,當中包括榮膺 Skytrax「2009年全球最佳航空公司」。通過是次參觀,同學不但能在國泰城的博物館了解過去本港航空業的發展,如何從啟德國際機場發展至現時位於赤鱲角的香港國際機場;同時亦參觀了為機師而設的飛行模擬訓練,及為空中服務員而設的客戶服務及安全培訓。

學員對於學生事務委員會所舉辦的企業參觀活動,都抱有正面評價,他們認為這些活動能給予他們課室以外的學習機會,促進全人發展。


Visit at Cathay Pacific City to Learn from the Best Airline

A company visit was arranged for students of the Bachelor of Arts Programme in Travel Industry Management at Cathay Pacific City next to the Hong Kong International Airport. The visit aimed to let students gain a more in-depth understanding of airline service operation and learn that continued development is important when striving for excellence. Based in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific has won numerous global awards over the years, including "Airline of the Year Award" presented by Skytrax in 2009. Students felt that the visit had allowed them to get a glimpse of the past aviation development from the Kai Tak International Airport to the present Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok in the Museum. The tour also provided the students with a chance to learn more about the flight simulator training for pilots as well as the stringent induction training course for cabin crew regarding in-flight safety and service.

Company visits organised by the SPEED Student Affairs Sub-committee are commendable as the response of students is always positive. Feedback from students suggested that the outside classroom learning opportunities help enhance their all-round development.
